About the TN-Arts Collective and its Mission

The TN-Arts Collective was created because of the desire of members of the Spring Hill Visual Arts Guild to promote the arts in Middle Tennessee and to provide an affordable web presence for its members via web pages, e-mail service and web galleries. It is an open group of artists that encourages creativity, expression, collaboration and growth among it members. It welcomes all artists, craftsmen and performers from beginners to seasoned professionals and hopes that the most experienced will help those starting out along their way. The gallery structure supports many multi-media formats so performers can showcase their talents with audio and video clips.

In addition, it is intended to provide information about art events, classes, and resources for the Middle Tennessee arts community. Groups hosting open art shows, juried art shows or gallery space are invited to submit their event notices to our events page. Performance venues and theatrical organizations are encouraged to provide audition and performance announcements to our events calendar as well. Art related public service announcements are free.

TN-Arts Terms of Service (TOS)

The TN-Arts Collective is dedicated to the concept of freedom of expression and will follow the following Terms of Service. If you accept membership in the collective you must agree to and abide by these terms.

1. Each artist must own the artwork that they display on this site or be able to provide written permission to display it from the owner. Likewise, no member of this site (or any one else for that matter) may use, copy, or alter any images from this site, including the web site itself.  All of this material is copyrighted and belong to the individual artists or the site owners.

2. Artists are totally responsible for the content of their artwork and the TN-Arts Collective takes no responsibility for what an artist displays. However, the Collective and site owners reserve the right to remove any work from display and can not be held responsible either legally or financially for such removal. Typical reasons for removal include but are not limited to: works that violate the copyrights of any other artist, works that promote racial or ethnic hatred, works that include children (those appearing to be under the age of 18 in the judgment of the site owners) or animals in compromising situations, works that are blatantly sexual or violent in nature and have no other social relevance. Any work that violates the laws of the USA or the State of Tennessee and is not constitutionally protected by the principles of freedom of speech will be removed. The basic responsibility of the artist is to check with the site administrators if you feel an image might be subject to this clause BEFORE POSTING it.  No artist is entitled to any type of refund of his or her membership fee if any or all of their works need to be removed.

3. This site will support the displaying of artwork that may not be suitable for all ages. For this reason, all members must be over 18 years old when signing up and state that they are for the membership to be valid. Anyone under 18 may sign up through their parent or guardian. The parent or guardian will be required to sign a permission form stating that they have reviewed the site contents and are allowing the minor in question to have access before an account will be set up.  The age information will not be used for any other purpose than to obtain parental permission. Should any subsequent dispute arise because of the age of a member who has falsified their information, the Collective and site owners will not be held responsible.

4. All member artists will be required to behave as civilized adults and treat each other with respect. You are encouraged to express your true feelings on any topic but comments on the displayed work, the site, art organizations, individuals, politics, religion etc. must remain civil. Slanderous, libelous, severely derogatory or demeaning and racist remarks will not be tolerated

5. This site will work with law enforcement agencies, following legal procedures, to catch anyone breaking the law. So if you intend to do such, be warned, we will help them catch you.

6. The Collective and site owners agree to provide, for the basic membership fee, one Artist's web page, one E-mail account and one Gallery account for a period of one year. No warranty of service beyond that is implied or provided.

7.  The Terms of Service for this site may be changed at any time by the site owners. Notice of such changes will be sent to every member via site E-mail and continued use of the site after the changes become effective will be considered to be approval and acceptance of the changes.
